Description
This card set commemorates the centennial of the first Negro Leagues World Series between the Negro National League campion Kansas City Monarchs and the Eastern Colored League champion Hilldale Club. It is the only authorized card set to celebrate the 1924 Negro Leagues World Series. The set contains 67 cards designed and created by four artists –Brian Kong (33 cards), Jeff Suntala (14 cards), Mike Kupka (4 cards), and Darryl Mathews (2 cards). There are 33 player cards, two owner cards, 10 box score cards, 10 key play cards, four stadium cards, four team statistic cards, three miscellaneous cards, and a checklist.
The set is a limited edition of 10,000 sets. A bonus card based on a painting by Graig Kreindler has been inserted in 25% of the sets.
